The Phone Call

I was just coming up the stairs after some show on a rainy Vancouver night. I went to check when the next bus was to arrive and noticed I had a missed call. “You have one new message, to review your messages press 1”. The rain on streets was glowing from the neon signs that tower over Granville Street in the city’s downtown core. “Hey, It’s me, listen” Elijah’s voice began in a gritty excited tone, like a drunk teenager. “Listen… we’ve spent enough time dreaming about this, we’re going to make it happen. I’ve met a friend here in Boston, Tony, you’ll love him. Get ready.”

He said it with such energy and excitement I knew Elijah was serious. We were about to jump head first into something crazy. It was a pretty undefined idea. Incomplete.

The idea was formed with the notion of unleashing art talent and creativity into a unique space and seeing what would happen. In Boston Tony and Elijah were surrounded by talent. They had connections from all over the city getting excited about making this project happen.

Since then the vision has changed a lot, influenced by new partners, new minds with their own ideas. Together we created a space where these ideas could be free to mix and thrive and with them we can create a new underground influence in culture. On these grounds, we set off to support a community full of amazing talent, style and creativity. The community builds itself, we just engage and share it with those who are interested. With people like these in a world like this, we can be anything we want to be.
